Equality California Awards

On Tuesday, April 10, 2018, Equality California hosted its annual Sacramento Equality Awards event at the Crest Theatre, honoring California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, Adama Iwu, Cathy Schwamberger, and The Capitol LGBTQ Association for their leadership in the fight to advance LGBTQ civil rights and social justice. Stephon Clark City Council Meeting

Last week I attended about 75 minutes of the Sacramento City Council Meeting.  The public comment portion was dedicated solely to community members who wished to address the tragic March 18 police shooting of Stephon Clark, a 22-year-old black man who was unarmed and standing holding a cell phone in his grandmother’s backyard.
