Last night was the first of four total lunar eclipses to come in the next two years. This tetrad is extremely rare, and it gives photographers a few chances to refine our "shooting the moon" skills. Last night's eclipse in San Diego was marred by some clouds now and then, but mostly it was a great show. I chose the iconic California Tower in Balboa Park as my locale, and the trajectory worked out pretty well. Issues of focus and exposure in such an urban environment were a challenge, but this is the first one I've shot, and I was please overall with the results.
