Pride 2018

This year’s annual Pride celebration seemed to be larger than ever!  The parade took about 75 minutes, led off as always by the Dykes on Bikes.  Healthcare groups, Lyft, Nordstrom and more were some of the many non-traditional allies participating in the parade, and the festival was wall-to-wall booths down several blocks of Capitol Mall.  I haven’t been for a couple of years, but of note were the variety of transgender and bisexual and even cannabis flags being worn as superhero capes and the apparent increase of participation of people of color, along with signs and messaging related to the intersection of varies identities and causes.  The weather cooperated and a cooling breeze blew.  For more photos and coverage see Outword Newsmagazine
