Victoria: The most British of Canadian cities...

De and I had a lovely visit in July 2012 in Victoria.   The capital of the province, it lies at the southern end of Vancouver Island and is the most British of the major Canadian cities.  From high tea at the Empress Hotel, to gorgeous Butchart Gardens, to the Parliament buildings, the city is a charming paen to all things Anglophile.  Lesser known is its Chinatown and First Nations monuments and history, let alone the environs beyond the city, and we hope to return to explore more of it in the future.
