Sacramento seems to be surrounded on every side by water.  From the confluence of both the Sacramento and American Rivers, to the Consumnes River, to the San Joaquin Delta, to Lakes Natoma and Folsom, and finally the Yolo Bypass, we  city dwellers get lots of opportunities to get wet!  These precious bodies of water host a variety of wildlife, and attract  an amazing array of migrating birds every year.  They also serve as waterways for travelers, playgrounds for sports enthusiasts, and offer a much needed natural escape for us urban dwellers. Here are some of my favorites photos from the past few years.
