"Caged: Animals in Captivity" is a photo project I started working on last year and plan to continue in the future.  The tragedy of animals being kept in captivity is apparent to anyone who spends more than a few minutes watching them in their enclosures.  The arguments concerning keeping animals imprisoned can be complex when poachers and habitat destruction is taken into consideration,  and species teeter on the edge of extinction.  However, arguments for taking away the most basic right a living being can have - its freedom - simply for the purpose of "educating" humans simply don't work for me if the species is not endangered.  More to come as I develop this page and this gallery... below the photos is a list of the animals in the gallery and their status.
