We enjoyed watching the beautiful 2020 planetary conjunction last night. Saturn and Jupiter were as close as they’ve been in 800 years. It was amazing to think that Galileo was alive the last time this happened, and that this supernatural event might be the original of the original “Christmas star.”
Walking just up our street to a nearby vista point, I decided to shoot the Great Conjunction in context of all that was going on around us… the dusky sky, the lights in peopleʻs homes shining in the darkness, the beautiful silhouetted foothill trees… altogether a beautiful, clear winter evening here in Auburn, California.
