I’m finally getting around to looking at all the photos I took during our brief visit to London last September. We had just a couple of nights before heading down to Southampton for a Baltic Cruise with my brother and his family. This time we chose to stay on the South Bank, near the London Eye, in a basic hotel located in the back side of the historic County Hall Building.
It was a great choice because the pedestrian area along the Thames is fantastic! Food trucks, entertainers, and fabulous restaurants line the area, with outdoor beer gardens and seating areas bringing the post-work crowds of young folks together for some evening fun. Once it gets dark, the neon lights come out, and handheld night photography is absolutely one of my favorite ways to spend an evening out and about. We also headed to the West End to catch “Six,” the hip, funny, colorful, woman-positive historic story of Henry the VIII’s wives.
Here are a few night shots from out brief visit to London. All images were taken with my Nikon D750 camera and Nikon Nikkor 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6g lens. For more images from this trip, please see my Charming Bruges post.
